Hello there. Thanks for stopping by. Or clicking by. Whatever.
A few words about me:
I grew up in Ann Arbor, MI and have been a fan of our local teams – Detroit Tigers, Pistons and Lions as well as U-M football, baseball and basketball. I’m really not much of a hockey fan, but have been known to watch a few games here and there especially NHL playoff games involving the Red Wings…and when Michigan makes the NCAA tournament.
My first Tigers game was in the mid to late 1970’s and Rusty Staub hit a HR in the 10th inning. It was a walk-off HR before the term “walk-off” even existed. On the day of the 5th game of the World Series in 1984, I was 17 and was supposed to work at Wendy’s. It was the only day I have ever blown off work. When Gibby hit his second HR (the famous one), it was a great feeling to know my team was the best…was world champions.
In 2006, I attended ALDS Game 3 versus the Yankees when Kenny Rogers shutdown the hated Yanks. I was supposed to go to ALCS Game 3 versus the Athletics, but had to work. So, the next day, a friend of mine and I went up to the stadium for game 4 without tickets. We found some for around $120 each and got to see the most amazing sporting event of my life!
In 2012, I attended ALCS Game 4 when we completed the sweep against the Yankees. Here is the final out of that game from my seat:
This blog is a vent for me. It is a place to put my thoughts on a variety of topics but mostly sports and politics. Please post comments to agree or disagree with my posts.
